Know your catch. Fish within the rules.
HookID helps Florida and Tennessee anglers identify a fish from a photo and instantly see the regulations that apply — size limits, bag limits, and open seasons — so you can decide whether to keep it or let it go, right there on the water.
IDENTIFY BY PHOTO • Snap or choose a photo and get the most likely species, with a confidence indicator and close alternatives. • Powered by computer-vision recognition (Fishial.AI). Identification is an estimate, not a legal determination — always confirm before you keep a fish. • Your first identification is free. After that, unlock each one by watching a short video — it only starts when you tap it, and closing it early unlocks nothing and simply offers you the choice again — or subscribe to HookID Pro for unlimited identifications with nothing to watch.
FLORIDA & TENNESSEE REGULATIONS AT A GLANCE • Regulations cover Florida (FWC) and Tennessee (TWRA). HookID detects your state from your location. View or change it on the About screen (tap the ⓘ button). • See current Florida FWC size and bag limits and seasonal closures for the identified species. • In Tennessee, see TWRA statewide size, bag, and season rules for freshwater species. Alligator gar and shovelnose sturgeon show a "NO HARVEST — release immediately (TWRA)" banner. Where TWRA does not list a species separately, HookID says so and points you to TWRA rather than guessing. • Clear "PROTECTED — DO NOT HARVEST" warnings for protected and federally managed species, now saying who protects the fish: the state, federal law, or both. • Regulation data is for reference only; verify current rules at myfwc.com (Florida) and tn.gov/twra (Tennessee).
EXPLORE & LEARN • Browse species with photos, habitat, and identifying features. The Explore gallery and species counts follow your state. • See what's biting near you based on your location.
HOOKID PRO (optional subscription) • Unlimited fish identifications — no video to watch, ever. • Catch journal: log every fish with species, size, weight, location, bait, and photos. Your journal stays private on your device. • Marine weather: tides, wind, boating conditions, and solunar bite windows. • Weather from coastal stations nationwide, including the Great Lakes. Where no coastal station is close, water temperature can come from a nearby USGS river gauge. That data is provisional. • Removes every ad from the app.
PRIVACY FIRST • No account required, and nothing of yours is ever sold. • Your catch journal never leaves your device, and your photos and GPS location are never given to advertisers. • The free version shows two kinds of Google AdMob ads: a small banner, and a rewarded video that unlocks an identification and only plays when you tap to watch it. Going Pro removes both — and all ad-related data collection. • Delete everything anytime: tap the ⓘ button on the Identify screen to open About HookID, then Manage Your Data. Or use hookid.app/delete-account.
